Château de Bogard, a listed historic monument and member of the Demeures Historiques (DH), Vieilles Maisons Françaises (VMF) and Parcs et Jardins de Bretagne (APJB) associations, is open to visitors all year round. Make an appointment via the “visit” or “contact” tab for a personalized guided tour of the château, inside and outside. You can also come for the annual European Patrimony Days in September.

The Château de Bogard has a long history, beginning in 1274 with the de Bogard family and continuing into the 18th century with the De La Noüe family. Discover the story of Guillaume-François de la Noüe, known as “bras de fer”, who died in Moncontour. Discover the lives of François de la Noüe, a Breton parliamentarian and Freemason, and Félicité Meslé de Grandclos, a descendant of a shipowner from Saint-Malo, who were the creators of this enchanting place, unchanged since the 18th century. The Capelle family, who is owning the site since the 60s, have revived this forgotten past and enhanced it for your enjoyment.

Bogard is a collective adventure: Harald and Baudoin, the two brothers who own the property, will be happy to welcome you and tell you all about the history of the place during a private tour, as well as all the friends who contribute occasionally and share their good humour… The Château de Bogard is also involved with the townships of Quessoy and Hénon, member of the local shopkeepers’ association and partner of the local agricultural school La Ville Davy .

The Château de Bogard is first and foremost a prestigious and romantic place for all types of festive and collective events: weddings, but also music concerts, fireworks displays, seminars, exhibitions… It is also a haven of peace for flora and fauna. 40 hectares of woods, meadows, orchard, flower gardens and a pond are maintained and managed to preserve local biodiversity.

The Château de Bogard is located in the township of Quessoy (22120), 10 kilometers around from Saint-Brieuc and Lamballe (both served by TGV train stations). If your guests are coming by car, they can take the N12 and exit at Yffiniac, then follow the D765 straight on for 5 kilometers towards Quessoy. The Château de Bogard will then be signposted. The residence is also 5 kilometers from Moncontour, a medieval town worth visiting, and 20 kilometers from the magnificent beaches of the Emerald Coast (Val-André, Sables d’Or, Cap Fréhel). Your guests can also enjoy the seaside and appreciate Breton gastronomy.
